Author Notes- The Secret Trove

Every living species, the human race included, all through its mutation or evolution, has time and again depicted that growth and progress have always been a result of collective influence. The battles, mutinies and revolutions that history has seen are all but demonstrations of the power of collective will and unity!

Any human society, a family, a business organization or a nation as a whole, is built on the edifice of unity among its members.  Unity forms the very fabric of human physiology, no doubt, where every distinct organ in the system contributes to the smooth functioning of the human body as a whole. Every comet and planet in the scheme of the universe abides by a unifying energy, the gravitational force as one may call.

The web of oneness in and around us, is irrefutable, whatever name you may choose to call it. It is our innate strength, our driving force and our refuge even if we may not reckon with it.

We cry for our needs right from the time we are born. We seek the warmth of affection from then on.  Our own needs slowly bind us, consume us and put us through many tests and trials. While our thirst for validation, acceptance and love only keeps growing without bounds.  Self-gratification is what drives us most and the pursuit of it takes the majority of our lifetime. We chase dreams, we strive to carve an identity of our own and give our heart and soul to every mission, to every milestone on our way. We adapt, overcome, we win then lose, we hurt then rise and find pockets of happiness here and there. In all this, we shed a lot and gather a lot more. This grinding drill goes on, leaves us with many scars, and many learnings and we evolve along.

What is the purpose of it all? Have you achieved what you had set out for? We perhaps cannot say because we are no more the persons we were, when we started. Our preferences and priorities have as well gone through a lot of churns along the way, and, all of a sudden, we are no more the centre of it all!

When you have learnt to accept, forgive and co-exist;

When you have learnt to give, let go and look beyond yourself;

When you can find joy in the smile of others and feel their pain as yours;

When you can strive for the common good with nothing to ask for in return.

When you have learnt to live in your true elements, in sync with the universe;

When this spirit of oneness lying deep within you is fully fed and satiated.

Have you not then achieved what you were made for?
